About Deer Park Schools

Deer Park is located in the beautiful Inland Northwest. Surrounded by fields, forests, lakes and wildlife our city sits in the middle of a large valley, with mountains in three directions and Spokane approximately 20 miles to the south (view Spokane area map). Deer Park presently has a population of well over 3,000 within the city limits, while an additional 12,000 live within 15 minutes of the downtown area.

The Deer Park School District encompasses the City of Deer Park and stretches north to the Loon Lake and Newport School Districts, west to the Nine Mile Falls and Mary Walker School Districts, east to the Riverside School District and south to the Mead School District. Overall, the District covers approximately 173 square miles and over 9,000 households.

Over the past several years, strong community support through passage of bond issues and levies has provided the school district with mostly new and remodeled buildings to keep pace with the growing student population. Student population in Deer Park continues to grow, as it has for the past sixteen years. In September 2004, enrollment was at 2040 students. Enrollment grew to 2153 in September 2005, and to 2310 in September of 2006. It is exciting to be a part of a growing school district and community.

Our district consists of five schools, housed in six buildings. Preschool through second grade students are served at Deer Park Elementary School. Arcadia Elementary School is home to students in grades three through five and Deer Park Middle School has a grade six through eight configuration. Deer Park High School is a four-year high school, serving students in grades nine through twelve. DPHS also has an alternative high school program. Our District's fifth school is “Home-Link,” a very successful parent partnership program serving 500 students in grades K – 12. Home-Link runs out of two sites, the newly remodeled Clayton School (listed on the National Historic Register) and the A.G. Hegre Building in Deer Park. The Hegre Building also serves as the school district's central office; the district office administrators have offices in a portion of this building, remodeled in 2003.

District Boundaries and Deer Park Maps
