President Obama Speech

On Tuesday, September 8, President Obama will be addressing the nation's school age children in an address that is slated to last approximately 20 minutes.  Deer Park School District teachers, who did not have notice of the address until late last week, were to have informed their students if their class was going to see the address live.  The District will be taping the address for later use, as it is not often the President addresses school age children.  Here is a link to the transcript of the prepared remarks - Back to School Address

However, if parents have a child in a classroom where the address is being shown and they wish for their child to be excused, they need only contact their child's school.  The address is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
